Tips for wedding planning

Planning your wedding is an exciting yet often overwhelming experience, however there are a few key things you can do to make it more manageable and enjoyable. It’s about creating an ambience that reflects your personality, from the catering and cocktails to the venue and the bartenders.

Make a wish list

Make a wish list of everything you desire for your perfect day (within reason of course) and work out how yours and your partners’ ideas align. You may need to do some compromising – you might want a sit-down dinner, your partner might want a cocktail wedding reception with finger food, you might want a band, they might want a DJ. Working it out from the start is key – then you can start to plan how to make it a reality.

Know your budget and stick to it

Once you have your wish list it’s time to get real. How much can you afford to spend? Get a variety of quotes to give you an idea of what your dream wedding is likely to cost, then you’ll be able to make any necessary compromises and adjustments. Perhaps a change of venue will save you money, maybe you can cut back on the embellishments or perhaps you can do without the live music. Allow some budget for contingencies that inevitably arise and details you might overlook such as cleaners for the venue, rubbish removal and the like. Little things add up!

Wedding planner

While it’s time consuming, there’s so much of your wedding that you can organise yourself. However, having a dedicated person responsible for overseeing everything on the day means you’ll be able to sit back and enjoy the party far more. While a family member is great, a professional is better. As food, beverage and event specialists, we can provide someone on the ground to ensure everything runs seamlessly from start to finish.

These tips should hopefully help you get your wedding planning underway and under control, but if it all seems too much then never fear, we’re here to help take the stress out of everything
